Scared of making those all important decisions?

How many times do we keep saying: “better the devil we know” when we’re dwelling on important choices or decisions that could turn our lives around for the better?

Or we’re simply too paralysed and afraid to even attempt something new?

Maybe it’s my adventurous nature, but the idea of not trying is definitely not in my DNA.

As I’m writing this, I just got the following tweet that gave me the inspiration to write this topic.

“You can’t make progress without making decisions” by Jim Rohn.

For the last few months, I’ve been very close to somebody who keeps saying that the only thing he yearns for in life is freedom, happiness and joy. Don’t we all? His life’s been challenged in so many horrible ways by his family, illness and very serious personal issues. He also tends to procrastinate when it comes to making decisions.

I asked him: “How d’you think you can achieve what you want?”

He replied: “I don’t know! Every time I try to do something, I just keep getting obstacles… so my life is the same old rot. I believe I’m destined to be unhappy!”

My focus immediately landed on the word “trying”.  How can you achieve anything in life when the only thing you do is “try” and not actually “do”? And if all you do is try, have you really taken decisions to go with something whole heartedly?

By trying we’re not engaging. The Law of Attraction calls it “inspiration”.

Inspiration is the emotional energy or image, that we create in our mind, heart and body to achieve a goal. We could say that without inspiration, it’s like driving a car without petrol… how far can we go?

Having a goal isn’t the simplest thing. We need to enrich our goal with many details to give it a shape or a form and eventually create an exact image of what we desire. Visualise it every day, create a vision board, live and breathe it every day. Whatever works for you! Above all, as the Law of Attraction says, believe it will happen. And then you need to take some action!

I can’t deny that sometimes I’ve found this laborious! And sometimes my faith in the power of the Universe to co-create has fallen off the edge of a cliff! Remaining positive has been a struggle when so many things have hit me. And yes, negative thoughts sometimes creep in,  despite my belief in the Law of Attraction. But then I’m still work in progress! However, I can say that I firmly believe the effort is worth it.

I just need to convince my friend that the Law of Attraction really does work!

I’d love to hear your stories. How has the Law of Attraction worked for you? And how do you help someone stop procrastinating and make decisions?
